Advance AutoParts Return Policy
Most items may be returned within 30 days from the date of purchase, unless otherwise noted on the product page. Returns must be accompanied by a sales receipt or packing slip to receive a refund to the original form of payment. Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.
If you received free shipping on your order, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund. Returns of electrical products and special order items are subject to a 20% restocking fee. To return an item, follow these steps:
- Locate your order number on your sales receipt or packing slip.
- Visit our returns center and enter your order number and zip code.
- Select the items you wish to return and the reason for return, then click Continue.
- You will be given a Return Authorization Number. Please write this number on the outside of the box.
- Ship the item(s) back to us at your expense. We recommend that you use a shipping service that provides tracking information.

Advance AutoParts has a pretty standard return policy in comparison to other auto retailers. Most items can be returned within 30 days as long as you have your original receipt or packing slip.
There is a 20% restocking fee for electrical products and special orders, and shipping is non-refundable (unless you received free shipping with your purchase). To initiate a return, you’ll need your order number which can be found on either your sales receipt or packing slip.
