Costco is a membership-only warehouse club that provides a wide selection of merchandise, from food to electronics. It has been in business since 1983 and now has over 700 locations across the United States and Puerto Rico. But there are still some states that don’t have a Costco.
Alaska is one state that doesn’t have a Costco. The state is home to just over 700,000 people, which is a relatively small population for a store like Costco. There are also already a number of other membership-based stores in the state, including Sam’s Club and BJ’s Wholesale Club.
Hawaii is another state without a Costco.
The cost of living in Hawaii is higher than in most other states, so residents may be less likely to want to pay for a membership. There are also already a number of other stores that offer similar merchandise, including Walmart and Target.
There are also a number of smaller states without Costcos. These include Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire. These states all have populations of less than two million people. Costco may not see the need to open stores in these states when there are already other stores catering to their needs.
