Will Asda colleagues still get Walmart shares?

Asda colleagues will still get Walmart shares, but the amount they receive will be based on their length of service with the company. Walmart shares are only available to employees who have been with the company for at least a year, so many Asda colleagues may not be eligible for this benefit.

Asda was acquired by Walmart in 1999, and since then, Asda colleagues have been able to purchase Walmart shares through the Asda Colleague Share Scheme. This Scheme allows eligible colleagues to buy shares at a discount, and also receive dividends from Walmart’s profits.

However, after Asda’s recent announcement that it is planning to exit the Scheme, it is unclear whether or not colleagues will still be able to purchase Walmart shares. A spokesperson for Asda said: “We are currently in the process of consulting with our colleagues on our future share plans. Once this consultation has concluded, we will provide an update.”

So it seems that at this stage, it is still uncertain whether or not Asda colleagues will be able to purchase Walmart shares in the future. However, we will update this article as soon as more information is available.
