Is dunnhumby owned by Tesco?

In May 2014, it was announced that Tesco had agreed to sell a majority stake in dunnhumby, the company’s customer insight and marketing subsidiary, to a group of investors led by Eurazeo for £2.4 billion. The deal valued dunnhumby at £3 billion.

The sale was completed in October 2014, with Tesco retaining a 20% stake in the company. Tesco said that the sale would allow it to focus on its core retail business and reduce its debt.

Eurazeo’s investment was made through its Eurazeo Brands fund, which invests in consumer brands with strong growth potential. The other investors in the deal were CVC Capital Partners and various members of dunnhumby management.
