Will Petco take my turtle?

If you have a turtle that you can no longer care for, you may be wondering if Petco will take it off your hands. The answer is maybe. It depends on the store manager and whether or not they feel comfortable taking in a turtle. Some stores have strict policies against accepting reptiles, so it’s always best to call ahead and ask before bringing your turtle in.

If the store does accept turtles, they will likely require that you fill out some paperwork and sign over ownership of the turtle to them. They may also ask for a small donation to help offset the costs of caring for the turtle. Once the transfer is complete, the store will be responsible for the care and welfare of your turtle.

So, if you’re looking to get rid of your unwanted turtle, Petco may be an option, but it’s not a guarantee. It’s always best to call ahead and ask before bringing your turtle in.
